This project proposes to replace the existing two-barrel, granite culvert which carries Eliot Street over the Pine Tree Brook with a single-span, 3 sided, precast concrete culvert or arch. The proposed single-span bridge will decrease the risk of flooding by allowing higher flows from storms to pass and will improve the crossing ecologically by creating a more natural flow and stream bed condition. The stream bed will be reconstructed and designed to prevent future scour and undermining of the structure. Additionally, utilities and drainage crossing the structure will be upgraded as required to accommodate the new structure. Design and Permitting are set to begin in February/March 2023.
